Projects
Five projects have been set up as part of Healthway Ross & Cromarty:
Healthy Routes to School, Work and for Leisure (Alness, Invergordon & Evanton)
This project is aimed at increasing the levels of physical activity amongst people who are taking insufficient exercise to the detriment of both their physical and mental health and well-being. A range of initiatives are proposed to stimulate interest and then support adults and children in walking and cycling.

Healthy Hearts (Gairloch and Lochbroom)
This is aimed at people over 45 who are insufficiently active physically and/or who are eating unhealthily and/or smoking. The need to reduce the high incidence of cardiovascular disorders has motivated people in this area to suggest innovative ways of reaching all sectors of the community with information, advice and various form of practical support to address these issues effectively.

Empowering Women with Dependant Children (Dingwall & District)
This is aimed at women -particularly those socially excluded - with children aged 0-16 and who are suffering from stress, low self-esteem, and unhealthy diet and insufficient physical activity. A stimulating, holistically-designed set of initiatives is proposed to empower women so that their health & sense of well being is radically improved.

Healthy Living for the Over 45s (Black Isle)
This project is aimed at those people over 45 who are experiencing social isolation and/or insufficiently active physically, eating unhealthily and experiencing poor mental health. Activities and services proposed are many and varied and will enable beneficiaries to take a holistic approach to improving their health and sense of wellbeing.

Promoting Health & Wellbeing of Young Children (Tain & District)
is aimed at first-time parents - especially those socially excluded - and those working with young children. The project is designed to increase their capacity in a variety of ways to promote the health and wellbeing of children in their care.
